Installing dgVoodoo2 Edit

dgVoodooWIP35 Edit

  • Download dgVoodooWIP35 zip. Extract the folder anywhere.
  • Open the MS folder inside the dgVoodooWIP35 and copy D3D8.dll
  • Open your POL folder (FFXI/SquareEnix/PlayOnlineViwer) and paste D3D8.dll inside.
  • Launch dgVoodooCpl.exe in the dgVoodooWIP35 folder once for it to create a config file.

D3Dcompiler_47 Edit

  • Download d3dcompiler_47 zip, and extract it anywhere.
  • Copy or cut d3dcompiler_47.
  • If you are running a Windows 32 bit operating system, paste it in Windows/System32/
  • If you are running a Windows 64 bit operating system, paste it in Windows/SysWOW64/

Confirm it is being applied to FFXI Edit

  • Launch FFXI and check if the dgVoodoo watermark is in the bottom right, if so it is installed correctly.
  • Open dgVoodooCpl.exe again and turn off the watermarks on Glide, and Directx tabs.
  • Update the Vram on the Directx tab to above 64mb. 1024mb if your machine will allow it.
  • Anisotropic and Antialiasing (MSAA) can be configured higher.
  • Save the config in the /SquareEnix/PlayOnlineViewer/ folder.

Installing Reshade Edit

  • Go to Reshade.me and download the installer on the front page.
  • Select Directx10+ and select POL.exe in your /SquareEnix/PlayOnlineViewer/ folder when it asks for you to choose a game.
  • After selecting POL.exe it will ask for which shading and post processing effects you would like to install. Pick what you want.
  • Recommended: Ambient Lighting, Clarity, Levels, and Vibrance.
  • The recommend settings should give the effects on the right of the image below.

  • You're with done with installation!
  • Upon launching FFXI, a Reshade box should appear at the top of your screen.
  • A small tutorial should launch upon pressing Shift + F2
  • Play around with it until you find something you like!
